Day 1 :
Tbilisi

Arrival at Shota Rustaveli airport, group transfer to hotel in Tbilisi. Hotel accommodation.

Breakfast at the hotel.
10:00 – City tour of Tbilisi. Old Town, Sulphur Baths, Metekhi Temple, chairlift to Narikala Fortress with wonderful view over the whole city; Sightseeing of Chardin Street, Liberty Square, Rustaveli Avenue. Visit National Museum of Georgia.
Departure to Mtskheta, the old capital of Georgia. Sightseeing of 6th century Jvari Temple, which stands on a mountain, offering beautiful panorama of Mtskheta and view where two rivers Kura and Aragvi merge. Lunch followed by a visit to the 11th century Svetitskhoveli Cathedral, where according to legend the chiton of Jesus, brought to Georgia by Mtskheta Jews, Rabbi Elioz and his brother Longinose, who were present at the crucifixion, is buried. Walking in the narrow streets of the city.
Return to Tbilisi. Dinner at ethno-restaurant. (Wonderful evening of traditional Georgian music, dancing and food).

Departure to Gori, one of the oldest cities in Georgia. The city takes its name from the rock formation (goraki) in the centre of the city. Gori is first mentioned in the VII century AD. e., although archaeological evidence suggests that in place of Gori, there were settlements of urban type in the early Bronze Age, about 3 thousand years BC. In Gori was born Joseph Stalin – Russian revolutionary, Soviet political, state, military and party leader. From 21 January 1924 to 5 March 1953-head of the USSR. Visit to Stalin’s museum where his personal belongings are kept.
Observation of the cave city of Uplitsikhe, the “Lord’s fortress”. The city was founded at the end of the II-beginning of the I millennium BC, one of the first cities on the territory of Georgia, finally abandoned in the XIX century. City is archeologically multilayered object, one of the most important monuments of Georgian culture.

Day 4 :
Batumi

a port city, a Black Sea resort and the capital of the Georgian Republic of Adjara. The city is very modern and original, attracting travellers with unusual buildings, original attractions and a peculiar mixture of all sorts of shapes, colours and sounds. A lively green boulevard by the Black Sea with musical fountains, jogging paths, cafes and bars. The city is extremely democratic. There are plenty of chic casinos, expensive hotels and high-end restaurants. Travelers can spend their time in comfort and have a great time.

12:00 – sightseeing tour in Batumi. Visit Batumi Dolphinarium.

Amazing, vibrant, colourful, yet majestic and austere-this is the Svaneti region. It is famous as a ski resort. Its capital is the town of Mestia, centre of the Mestia municipality in upper Svaneti. It is situated on the southern slopes of the Greater Caucasus. The height above sea level is 1500 m. Population – 1973.

Svaneti is studded with fortress towers which were built in VII-XIII centuries and which are now protected by UNESCO. Eight kilometres from the village of Mestia is Khatsvali mountainous ski station. The highest ski-lift stop is located at the top of Zurulda Mountain, about 2400m. the elevation difference is 500m. it may be reached by cable car or microbus. (opcion) In Mestia, there is the Museum of History and Ethnography, the house-museum of the famous Georgian mountain climber Michael Khergiani. (opcion)
Possibility to book jeep excursion (opcion) in Ushguli for extra fee. Fee for the ride is $18 per person. Ushguli is a village 2200 m above sea level, considered one of the highest in Europe. Ushguli village has been added to the UNESCO World Heritage List. The unique watchtowers of Svaneti attract tourists from all over the world. They were built in XII-XIII centuries and are in good condition since then. The watchtowers are the symbol of Svaneti. From the village Ushguli a wonderful view can be seen Shkhara – the highest peak in the central part of the Greater Caucasus Range, it is also the highest point in Georgia and the sixth highest peak in the Caucasus. The height of the main peak is 5193.2 m.
Return to Mestia.
